Ponderosa and Tse’ Yaato’ High School
Ponderosa High School and Tse’ Yaato’ high schools offer a highly unique, hands-on curriculum to students striving to complete their high school diploma. Small class sizes and highly-qualified teachers focus on core curriculum, with a focus developing real-world application of 21st century skills. Each school has unique programs that reflect the individual communities that they serve. Please see each school’s information page for more details on what is offered by each school.
TAPP (Teen-Age Parent Program)
TAPP, located inside Tse’Yaato’ High School, is a separate alternative education program for pregnant and parenting teens who want to continue their education while remaining close to their babies. Students may bring their babies to school and, at the same time, work on credits necessary for graduation.

Juvenile Detention
The mission of the Juvenile Education Program is to provide students who are adjudicated to the Coconino County Juvenile Detention Center an opportunity to continue their educational studies. An assessment of each student’s academic skills and graduation progress helps determine their education and transition plan. Classrooms are located within the Juvenile Detention Center where instruction is provided by two highly qualified teachers.
The focus of this program is to provide a safe and caring school environment that encourages students to engage in school and work toward meeting their own educational goals. This program works closely with the student’s home school to keep students engaged in coursework that can be completed and valued upon their return.
Jail Education
The mission of the Coconino County Jail Education Program is to provide students who are under the age of 18 and who are adjudicated to the Coconino County Jail an opportunity to continue their educational studies. An assessment of each student’s academic skills and graduation progress helps determine their education and transition plan. The classroom is located within the County Jail where instruction is provided by a highly qualified teacher.
The focus of this program is to provide a safe and caring school environment that encourages students to engage in school and work toward meeting their own educational goals. Emphasis on academic skill development and 21st Century Skills are a priority.
